(2019) Invited Speaker: Marcelo Knörich Zuffo, PhD

Marcelo Knörich Zuffo (50), IEEE Member since 1989,  is a full professor of the Electronics Systems Engineering Department of the Polytechnic School of USP (EPUSP). He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering (1988), Master’s degree (1993)  and a PhD (1997) in Electrical Engineering from EPUSP . He is currently coordinator of Interactive Electronics Group at the Laboratory for Integrated Systems where he leads research and developing projects  on Consumer Electronics including  virtual reality, digital image processing, Digital Health, multimedia hardware, digital TV, embedded computing, Internet of Things, interactive  and distributed systems. He coordinates a national facility for Public Key Infrastructure certification in Brazil.  He is also a member of national and international scientific and professional organizations such as  SBC (Brazilian Computer Society), ACM SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group in Computer Graphics) and Union of Engineers of the State of São Paulo and Brazil. He was responsible for the implantation of the first CAVE Digital (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment) of Latin America. He has intense activity in the definition of the Brazilian Digital TV System, that currently is adopted by almost all countries in Latin America. He is currently Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Center on Interactive Technologies of USP. In 2016 he had organized the 20th IEEE ISCE – International Symposium in Consumer Electronics.
